Biography


A former national team gymnast, Ruth went on to gain BA (HONS) at London Contemporary Dance School.

She has toured extensively as a dancer, both nationally and internationally. Beginning her career by dancing works by Robert North, Jose Limon and Paul Taylor before  moving towards dance theatre with Marisa Zanotti, Tag Theatre Company, and Natasha Gilmore’s Barrowland Ballet . She has since built a growing reputation as a teacher of core contemporary dance technique in Scotland and beyond. She is on a mission to get the whole world dancing!


Ruth enjoys a varied and creative life as a dancer and dance maker, recently creating new work for Project Y 2011 tour and Glasgow Commonwealth Games handover ceremony.


Teaming an expert knowledge in Martha Graham technique with a passion for new music and film, her creations often extend out of the theatre in to short films and music videos.


After being magnetically pulled towards the artistic talent of Thomas Small, Ruth joined the company as a dancer in 2010.
