Biography

Whist studying Human Nutrition at Manchester Met University, Miki joined the Contact Theatres Young Acting Company.  Miki went onto experiment in different forms of theatre to find where he wanted to focus his efforts; taking part in workshops and going to see many productions. 

On his return, he went into Theatre in Education; covering topics like sex education and mental health.  Miki then returned to his home town Glasgow, Scotland to join the first ever full time physical theatre course in Scotland with Adam Smith College based and supported by the Arches working with Simon Abbott, Alistair Seed and Jane Howe.  This course helped build Miki’s skill base and opened his spectrum of artistry. 

Miki has always wanted to dance from a very young age.  He was always the first up to dance at family gatherings.  Still holding onto his secret childhood passion for dance along with the experience and experimentation with dance and theatre during his travels, Miki gained the confidence and drive to pursue in investigating dance more.  Whilst studying on the physical theatre course, Miki was able to get some private tuition from Jane Simpson (Laban graduate and Limon specialist).  Jane help Miki build his dance audition skills to help him get accepted into The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance. 

Miki is now in his third year of studies at The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance.  The course continues to challenge him as an artist and helps build his dancing skills.  The Scottish School of Contemporary Dance gives Miki a chance to work with incredible teachers, artists and companies including SPK.

Miki began working with Smallpetitklein as a Support Worker for our Children’s Classes on Saturday mornings in 2011.

Food: Anything with potatoes; in fact any variation of potatoes, or even better a variety of potatoes.

Holiday:  3 months living in New York or travelling through Spain – especially Barcelona.
