Biography


Andrew is currently a freelance dance artist, working with ‘Curious Seed’ on ‘PUSH’ that will tour nationally in spring 2012 (artistic director Christine Devaney, Edinburgh) and also teaches children’s classes in the Creative Learning Department of Scottish Dance Theatre and Smallpetitklein (Dundee) and Bluesteak Arts (Preston). Andrew has facilitated classes and worked as a dancer for SPK during ‘IGNITE’ 2010-2011.


Andrew completed his first degree acquiring a BA(hons) Theatre Practice qualification at the University of Central Lancashire. After this Andrew went on to charter and run personal projects under the name of ‘Pressed on Players’ with a focus on physical commedia/ corporeal mime skills. He produced and toured ‘Cabaret Moliere’ offering workshops to GCSE and A’level  Drama and Theatre students.


Andrew moved to Dundee to seek further training in Contemporary Dance Performance at The Space, Dundee College as a mature student, where he will complete his second BA(hons) Dance completion award 2012.

He has a keen interest in the physical body and performance. Andrew hopes to synthesise his dance technique training with previous theatre skills to create a unique performance quality.


Andrew works on our Re:Move project as part of our residency with On at Fife.
