Smallpetitklein is led by award-winning choreographer Thomas Small, former Choreographer in Residence at The Space, Dundee. Established in 2001, we tour exciting, physical and emotive dance productions to theatres and interesting spaces across the UK. Over the last year, we have presented our new production ‘Falling Man’ at the Cunningham Studios in New York City, received 4 star reviews at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe for two productions (‘Still’ and ‘Falling Man’), and presented our duet ‘S/HE’ at London’s Royal Opera House. We have also conducted a national tour with our year-long project, Ignite. Ignite, delivered in partnership with YDance and supported through an Inspiring Communities Award from National Lottery and Creative Scotland, was designed to get more boys and young men, across Scotland, interested in dance. Our interactive children’s production and workshop, ‘Well Good’, is about to tour 80 primary schools for a second year, through our partnership with NHS Tayside. In 2011-2012 we are currently delivering the Re:Move Project, in partnership with ON at Fife supported by a pARTners Award from Creative Scotland. We have also just completed our second nursery project, ‘Keep Well’ supported by NHS Tayside. Smallpetitklein is Dance Company in Residence with ON at Fife’s four venues Rothes Halls (Glenrothes), Carnegie Hall (Dunfermline), Adam Smith Theatre (Kirkcaldy) and Lochgelly Centre (Lochgelly). We are also Resident Company at Scotland’s 5 star Arts Attraction, The Byre Theatre in St Andrews.
Through our Learning & Development department, we deliver high quality dance education workshops, lecture demonstrations and performance projects with local schools and community groups across the UK. Please explore our website for further information about our performance and education work.
